FAQs
Am I eligible for a Streamlined Installment Agreement?
1
In most cases, yes, if your IRS balance falls within the IRS streamlined limits, all required returns are filed, and you can afford the monthly payment. If your balance is higher or a Revenue Officer is assigned, the IRS typically requires a financial statement (Form 433-F or 433-A), which is priced separately. Washington DOR payment plans follow their own rules and are quoted separately.
Do penalty abatement and innocent spouse relief have eligibility limits?
2
Yes. Penalty abatement requires either first-time abatement eligibility (generally a clean compliance history for the prior three years) or documented reasonable cause. Innocent spouse relief requires meeting one of the three standards under IRC §6015: traditional relief, separation of liability, or equitable relief.
Are tax preparation fees included in resolution work?
3
No. Return preparation is billed separately. Most resolution options, including installment agreements, Offers in Compromise and penalty abatement, require all returns to be filed first. If the initial assessment finds unfiled returns, we quote them alongside the resolution work.
Are fees a guarantee of the final price or outcome?
4
No fee can or should guarantee a particular result, settlement amount or timeline with the IRS or the Washington Department of Revenue.
Possibly. The IRS evaluates your income, expenses, asset equity, and future earning potential using Form 433-A (OIC) or 433-B (OIC), and generally requires you to be current on all filing requirements and any required estimated payments before it will consider an offer. OIC fees are quoted separately based on the complexity of your financial situation.
Do I qualify for an Offer in Compromise (OIC)?
